“Quiet the mind and the soul will speak.” Shhhhh, be still. Slow down, stop the to do list thats running through your mind and allow yourself to BE Present, allow yourself to just BE. Suddenly, a door is unlocked and inspiration begins to flow. For some this feels impossible to clear your head and think of nothing and so we put our ear buds in and crank up the music blocking the inspiration waiting for us on the other side of the door. The quieter you become, the more you hear. When are you still and quiet in your day?
If you have a hard time getting your mind to quiet down. Go somewhere where you will not be interrupted. Turn off all music, tv’s and devices. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. In through your nose and out through your mouth. You can visualize ocean waves coming in and out if that helps. Pay attention to your breathing only. Start small and celebrate your success. If you made it through 2 calm, clear headed minutes then celebrate that! Add another minute the next day. It takes practice and the reward is peace. So worth it! You will find that you feel grounded and can live a more intentional life.
