I am a blessed mom of 4 truly amazing kids. These little people are my motivation to be a better me. I have learned more about myself through them than in any other facet in my life. This life is about relationships and connecting and man have I been blessed with the perfect people to help me grow. I try to be a fascinating wife to my super smart and handsome husband. He’s my best friend, number one supporter and it takes effort to maintain the kind of relationship we want.
I love vacationing, nature and business! I am currently a Executive Vice President Sales Leader with Norwex, a green company bringing awareness and creating safe havens in homes across the globe. I have been a trainer and coach at international conferences and also on an individual level. I am passionate about mentoring and being a force for good by bringing light into others lives. I am an info gatherer, I love learning and with that comes asking a lot of questions. My hubby calls me an interrogator, which is totally NOT true! I often make up my own words and love using humor to bring light into life. I have a passion for teaching and inspiring others to see their own unrealized talents and abilities. It’s so fun and it feels so good to make a difference in others lives!
I’m fascinated by the human body and have always been drawn to learning ways to help it heal itself. I feel like our bodies are a gift and so we try to take care of them the best we can at our house. I received a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and loved every minute of learning and understanding the way the body works. I choose to surround myself with amazing woman that share similar ideas. In our home we try to live a holistic lifestyle but not be too extreme in any area so we don’t take the joy out of life. Part of that includes eating good food!
I love God and my brother Jesus Christ, they are part of my daily life. I can’t imagine living in this world on my own without their direction and help. One thing I know for sure is that the way I live has brought me true happiness, the kind you can’t buy and only wish for.
I truly hope to help and inspire others to have light and love in their lives. This blog, Living the Life, isn’t about about Living that perfect life, its about living YOUR best, happiest most rewarding life which is very individual and unique to you. I hope that I can serve you in some way.

If you ask my family what I love to do, they would say nap and eat. I love dropping everything and hanging out on my crisp clean sheets with my soft fuzzy blanket and just recharging. I am pretty passionate about food… I love shopping for it, growing it, cooking it, going out for it, and taking pictures of it. I like creating and always love the idea of a good DIY. I constantly have projects floating in my brain and it keeps me happy. My little office/studio/craft room/sewing space is a perpetual mess because starting projects is one of my favorite things to do. Another thing that floats through my brain and keeps me happy, is the next trip. The kind of trips I like the best are the ones where we are actually experiencing another culture. The most memorable thing we do when travel is take cooking classes in other countries… a great way to learn the culture and, by far, the best meals we eat.
When I was in college, I spent a semester in Russia, another in China, and a year and a half in Japan… with little trips to Thailand, Korea, and Mexico. Those trips as a young, poor, single student were a big part of my life and helped shape my thinking and perspective.
After I got married and graduated with a degree in elementary education, I taught third grade in Chicago until I became a mom. If there is one thing I learned from teaching was that it was easier to teach a classroom of 33 kids than it is to teach a house of 4 kids.
One of the things that helps me be in the present, is recording the present… my thoughts, my feelings, my experiences… some may feel that it distracts, but for me, it helps me be there and it helps me connect. My kids and I love looking back on the things I have recorded and reminiscing.
Right now my family lives on Kauai, one of the Hawaiian island. The sunrises over the ocean, the fresh food year round, and the practically perfect weather are my favorite parts about this place. I spent a lot of energy trying to make the best of it and trying to not miss the rest of my family on the mainland.
My parents are from Japan. They got married and then hopped on a boat and came to America. So, maybe adventure is in my blood. Maybe that’s why I love naps so much. Because adventure is exhausting. Because raising four kids without family around is exhausting. Because DIY and cooking from scratch is exhausting… hehe, all the things that I love are exhausting.
