Description
The 16″ Steel Crosscut Blade for Radial Arm Saws and Beam Saws is a friction saw blade. It provides excellent results when cutting thin mild steel sections on an Original Saw Company Radial Arm Saw or Beam Saw.
Sawing of ferrous metal with this type of blade is done by friction. This kind of cutting requires a fine-tooth blade. It also needs to be operated at high arbor speed. Use this saw blade on industrial saws equipped with large motors and clamping fixtures. Friction blades burn through the stock and remove globules of metal rather than chips. Some burring of the material may result.
Friction saws are superior to abrasive wheels where finish and cutting life are essential. Change friction saw blades frequently to avoid damaged blades and excessive burning. Utilize this blade when cutting hollow metal doors, steel tubes, fabrication, structural shapes, and angle cutting.
