Monday night = Family Night at our house. We do all sorts of things from playing board games, having gospel talks, going out and having fun etc. Well, on this particular night the hubs was gone, we were all out of bread and meat for home lunches the next morning and I needed to think quick on my feet to figure out how I could make going to the store sound fun and pass as family night especially for my teenager!
Here’s what we did
We ended the night by going out for a BIG cup of piping hot chocolate with lots of whip cream and they loved it!
Another great idea if you have smaller kids is to take a stuffed animal of a character that they love and hide it somewhere on an isle. Tell your little ones that “Mickey” is hiding on one of the shelves and they have to look for him. You can get a couple isles of shopping done while they look and then find Mickey!! Grab it and hide it again and get another chunk of your shopping done. You can even tell them to close their eyes while you hide it. All my kids from the youngest to the oldest LOVE searching for hidden things at the store.
So…….what treasures did we end up with? Bubblegum Tape, Dippin Dots, Singing Tim McGraw at the top of our lungs (I like it, I love it, I want some more of it) and most and best of all…….. great memories.
