Description

Original Saw Company proudly manufactures the 14″ Manual Crosscut Power Saw Model 3715.M in our Northern Iowa facility. This saw combines efficiency, precision, and safety to provide the best cut quality in its class.

The model 3715.M is a manual saw, able to cut 3 ¼ ” deep in a single pass and has a 17 ¼” crosscut capability. It comes standard with manual clamps. Add pneumatic clamping for customized cutting.

Essential features of the 14″ Crosscut Power Saw include:

  • A 3 horsepower 3 phase motor creates a smoother motor start-up with less maintenance and longer service life
  • An enclosed cutting area that provides increased cutting safety
  • Industrial grade frame made from powder-coated, heavy steel
  • TEFC (totally enclosed fan cooled) motor and an internal automatic brake
  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) controls the arbor motor. Using the VFD increases the speed of the blade by over 8 seconds. Because of the VFD, this saw has a slower, smoother start-up.

Safety Features Make the 14" Crosscut Power Saw Different

Original Saw Company designed this saw with safety features in mind.

  • The Lexan Polycarbonate enclosed cutting area covers the saw's top and makes an enclosed cutting space. Unlike other saws, the operator cannot get a hand near the blade. Cutting safety is markedly increased due to the enclosed cutting area.
  • This saw is unique due to its pull handle. When cutting material, grab the handle on the right side of the machine. As the handle is safely pulled forward, the blade becomes visible. The operator pulls the carriage radially forward as it travels on a heavy fabricated steel beam. The carriage pulls the blade through the material to make the cut. After the cut, release the handle. The carriage returns to its home position under the machine cover.
  • While the saw is in operation, the machine pulls the sawdust back into the machine, and the dust port removes the dust on the backside of the frame.

The Crosscut Power Saw makes repeatable, straight cuts for industrial settings. Pallet shops, lumber yards, schools, big box stores, and many more industries utilize this machine.

  • A Crosscut Power Saw can easily cut through wood and wood products, composite material, and plastic.

Saw operators can cut material one piece at a time.

Materials can also be stacked to cut multiple pieces at once. Cutting several pieces at once can undoubtedly improve your production rate.

There are several blade options for the 14" Manual Crosscut Power Saw. Choose a 14″ carbide-tipped blade.

  • 14" General Purpose Blade for Radial Arm Saws and Crosscut Power Saws - 40 tooth
  • 14" Fine Crosscutting Blade for Radial Arm Saws and Crosscut Power Saws - 60 tooth

Blades are sold separately from the saw.

Compatible Saw Accessories

Saw Flat Extension Tables

It is highly recommended to use Saw Flat Extension Tables on the infeed and outfeed sides when using a Crosscut Power Saw. There is no exposed table on the saw because of the enclosed cutting surface. The Flat Tables will provide stability and safety when running material through the Crosscut Power Saw.

Saw Measuring Systems

When choosing Saw Measuring Systems for the Crosscut Power Saw, the Fixed Foot or Flip Foot options can be used.

It is recommended to use a Flip Foot when cutting material that is smaller than 4’, do not use the 4’ Fixed Foot Measuring System. (Saw Measuring System with Fixed Foot – 4′ long, left side mount or Saw Measuring System with Fixed Foot – 4′ long, right side mount). When the material is under 4’, it is difficult to retrieve it from the enclosed cutting area.
